Amy Cox

Amy (@woven_roots_) is a land based educator and basket maker interested in the therapeutics of working with plants. Primarily, she makes foraging baskets, inspired by and made of plants including willow, and foraged fibers such as rush and bark. She is also co-founder of The Birch Collective, a CIC offering nature based wellbeing and practical skills to 16-25 yr olds to support mental health.

Her love of craft and nature was sparked at the Cherry Wood Project where she completed an apprenticeship in forestry and craft, and her time immersed in plants at the School of Intuitive Herbalism. She has a level 2 City and Guilds in Basket Making and has been lucky to learn with many makers along the way including Eddie Glew and Claire Ravera.

She is a member of the Basket Makers Association.
