To be eligible for this programme you need to be:
- A professional artist, which means that you are engaged in your artistic pursuits and perhaps trained for them. You should be known for this work, and earn income from it.
- In a financial situation such that you could not afford to take up this residency without some financial assistance.
We welcome applications from within all genres of the arts, including music, visual arts, performance arts, literature, mixed media and others. It is important that there should be an element in your application of creating a new work or a new interpretation of an existing piece. And while craft is an element in art, the Residencies do not cover commercial craft-making.
If you are applying as a group, please let us know the number of people in the group. The application form should be filled out by the lead contact for the group, and we will request applications from the other group members at a later date. It is occasionally possible for some less experienced artists (that is, not professional as we define it) to join with larger groups; please write for further details.
Please note that there is no deadline for applications; all applications are reviewed and offers are made as and when we have funding and / or rooms available. Please note that, because we are arranging several residencies over a long period of time, you may not hear from us for a while.
We reserve the right to request further information from you regarding your application. Our decision on the application will be final, and we also reserve the right not to be required to explain any refusal of an application. If you have any queries, please email info@hawkwoodcollege.co.uk.
