Deep Ecology: Beltane

Understanding human consciousness as a component of the ecological process, we will seek to inspire a creative response to the seasonal cycle. Participants will explore the connection between nature, human nature, and the quest for authenticity.
Integrating ecological principles, ritual, and myth participants will develop a deeper awareness of the significance of time and place. We will engage with the land as an integral part of the ecosystem as we experience, through our physiological and psychological responses, the unfolding season.

What Is Included

For the majority of our courses, both residential and non-residential rates are available. Residential options are fully inclusive with all meals provided. Non-residential options include suppers, lunches and all refreshments and exclude B&B. Some of our short day courses, events and talks do not include meals and refreshments. Deep Ecology: Beltane Tutors

More about Deep Ecology: Beltane

When we transcend the myth of separation and embrace our role within the ecological system, we enrich our human experience.
In this series of workshops, aligned with the four Brythonic fire festivals, we will explore the symbiotic processes operating within the local environment. We will consider the biotic, abiotic and human components of the ecosystem and the flow of energy within and between them. We will acknowledge the cyclic nature of life and the phase of growth represented by each season.

Each workshop will offer a range of practices and exercises including: solo time in nature, individual and group ceremony, ecological teachings, creative writing, imaging and meditations.
Connecting with the ancient festivals of Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh and Samhain we will explore how the seasonal cycle reflects our own journey and enables us to move forwards inspired and replenished.

In this workshop, we will seek to align ourselves with the energy of Beltane - a time of fertility and sensuality. We will connect with and celebrate ourselves as sensuous physical beings opening to our creative potential. Using the power of co-created ritual, we will strengthen and affirm our commitment to personal growth and planetary wellbeing.

This workshop is open to all and may be particularly suited to those working in the environmental sector, health/wellbeing professions and the arts in nature.

Practical Information

As this workshop will be held outdoors, please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. You may wish to bring something to sit on e.g. sheepskin, rug etc. Refreshments will be provided but please bring your own lunch.

Registration from 9.30 am-10.00 am at Hawkwood Reception. Course ends at 4.30pm
