More about Gong Master Training
The ten-day Gong Master Training is a comprehensive deep dive into the Art and Science of Sacred Sound. Through both hands on experiential learning and engaging theoretical sessions, beginning students and those that have already taken their first steps into this world, will gain the knowledge and experience to develop their own sound healing practice.
New students receive a wealth of teaching, and for returning ones, the process of understanding deepens – incorporating new dynamic levels of embodied practice. Like reading a good book, the first time it’s read, the story becomes familiar, the second time, the offering meets the reader differently, whereby the repetition enables the story to evolve. With this training, what is revealed to the student is similar to the Gong itself – always entirely new.
There is also a growing trend of combining the gong with other healing modalities. Students who have already studied other modalities such as Yoga, Psychotherapy, Reiki etc often attend to gain the skills necessary to enrich their practice.
Students will have the opportunity to play and experiment with master quality instruments (both modern and collectable antiques): gongs and singing bowls. They will also receive instruction on the shruti box, chanting, toning, singing and conch playing. All material and equipment will be made available to students so there is no need to own or bring anything in order to participate on this course. However students are welcome to bring their own Gong or other instruments, if they would like.
Included in the cost of your course will be 9 key books to further your studies and practice: Way of the Gong Student manual, MEM Gong Yoga Manual, Magnum Opus vols. 1, 2, and 3, Music of Wholeness, Gongs of our Solar System, Life is a Shruti, The Conch Horn plus The Chiometer Chart and a working Chiometer wheel.
Participants will be guided in the use of the gong as a transformational tool whether used for personal practice, 1-1 therapy, Group Gong Baths, performance, or the all-night Gong Puja. Students will get the opportunity to experience the gong and other instruments in all of these contexts.
In total, there are 18 areas of gong mastery split into 7 regions. All regions will be explored, as this is an organic training the emphasis will be guided by the needs of the students. Those 7 regions are: History & Philosophy, Musical Science of Tone Combining, How to Play, Toning & Overtoning, Design Science & Astrology, The Chiometer and Mem Gong Yoga of Holistic Resonance.
The course will be led Gong Master Aidan McIntyre, accompanied by skilled and experienced faculty, Tim Byford, Kevin Goulding, Corinne Cael-Ameura and many more to be announced.
